Trying to Steal Our Bait

Today we headed to Spessard Holland Beach in Melbourne Beach to enjoy a couple hours in the sun. My husband wanted to go fishing,  We left the surfboards at home.  We actually should have left the fishing poles at home and brought the boards instead, but we didn't. The surfing was great today.

It was a perfect day. Not too hot, The wind was cool.

Trying to steal my bait

This guy was funny, because everytime we turned around he was trying to steal our bait out of our bait bucket.

Trying to steal my bait

He kept walking up and down the beach trying to steal people's newly caught fish.  He seemed to be eating pretty well today.

Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish today. But, we did catch a great tan.  It was a bit too rough for fishing.

What an awesome picture. I love the beach. Glad it was a fun day for you. I would take bait just to see him try to steal it. Thanks

Surf's up. Still a little windy up here to fish yet near the panhandle.

Cant beat the weather, feel sorry for the snow bunnies in Colorado this weekend

Take care

Hi Sandy, He's gorgeous!  Pictures like these make me envious - we're up here in New England happy to have a few crocuses blooming. The beach - and that bird! - sure looks good.

It looks like the only catching any fish was the bird, Sandy.  Too funny.

Oh Sandy, you are making me long for a trip to the beach!! We had 70 degree weather on Satuday and today it is raining and 50 degrees!

That bird stealer is a fine feathered friend! Really bold, huh!

You should write about your surfing more, a fun fact to learn about you!!

Hi SS,

I haven't been to a beach in years!!

What kind of bird is that?...an Egret or a Heron perhaps?

Sandy - What kind of a bird is that anyway?  He reminds me of an ex-boyfriend I had, before he got into body building:-)

Treva, This was an awesome sight to see. And he kept coming closer.

Karina. Beautiful beach weather here. We love it.

Mike and shirley, We kept shushing him away from our bucket.

Miss Mary, This guy knew exactly where he needed to be to eat.

Paul, Every part of the country has so many beautiful qualities. We are all so blessed.

Mary Kent, That bird was  very sly and keeping running to where people had fish. Smart bird.

Dan and Amy, We love the beach here. Come on down somtime.

Liz, It really was a beautiful day and nice and breezy too.

Heather, Yes, the only one catching fish this day was this bold bird.

Hey Caren, Well come on down and visit anytime. Would love to have you.  My surfing pictures right now would consist of me falling off the board right now.,

HI TO, That is a Heron - and a brave, beautiful, sly one, at that.

Myrl, I  love your sense of humor - you are so great -an old boyfriend of yours. Its a heron.   They're gorgeous.

Ann, Don't you ever be jealous. You head down here anytime that you like.  We' d love to have you.

Irene, Well you'll have to come on down sometime and visit us.

Richard, It was  a beautiful day with a great, sly bird, that was cracking me up.

When I was out fishing every weekend, I would feed the little fish to herons like this one.  They loved me.

Posted by Rob Arnold, metro Orlando full service, investor friendly & foreclosure Realtor (Sand Dollar Realty Group, Inc.) almost 3 years ago

TOTO, This guy was running up and down the beach, watching everyone's lines and everyone's bait buckets.

Hi Lou, It was a really pretty day, and it wasn't very hot.

Cheryl, It depends on the day, as to how the fishing is.  Sometimes it's great, other days, forget it. But, it's still a beautiful day at the beach.

Rob, I bet the herons did love you. Unfortunately we didn't have any little fish to feed this guy.
