Bailey has Figured out How To Beat the Heat

The weather has been warm and we are always looking for ways to cool off around here.  A swim in the pool is a great option. Or, heading to the beach and jumping in the ocean is refreshing.

Or, I suppose that stopping in every neighbor's yard, that has their sprinklers going, and jumping right in, is another option.

Bailey loves the water and when we're taking him for a walk, he can't walk by without getting soaked. He loves to stop and play. He drinks so much water, sometimes I think he's going to float.

We can't turn on the hose in the backyard, without him jumping in and grabbing a drink. He loves to be sprayed.  He has a ball!

After he's done playing in everyone's sprinklers we bring him home and give him a bath, otherwise he smells like well water - eggs - yuck!

Sandy - Way too cute for words.  I have an American Eskimo dog.  He has a a hard time in the Summer months.  I keep him clipped short during hot weather.  We are in our 7th consecutive day of 100+ degree weather.  He enjoys when I go out in the back yard with the hose and totally drench him a few times each day.  Hopefully tomorrow we will enjoy a bit of a cooling trend.

LOL! How cute is Bailey? He would get along perfect with my dog "Pax". Can't keep out of the water either. He actually has split end from getting his has wet so much. Thanks for sharing Bailey!

Them dogs aren't dumb.  They have enough sense to keep cool in the summer.  Beautiful animal by the way.

Hi Sandy

Looks like Bailey knows how to beat the heat and get a drink, teach him how to feed himself and you have it made.

Good luck and success

Sandy-Great pictures of your dog Bailey. My dog Bailey loves the sprinklers as well, but here in Mass. I haven't had to put the sprinklers on. Great for my water bill, but it really is a Dog's day of summer for my Miss. Bailey.

Sandy, really incredible photos.  Baily looks like a very special dog.  Smart one too.  Good way to stay cool.  My little guys are just sitting around looking hot and bewildered.  Its so hot they don't even want to go to the beach.  85 degrees here in Port Townsend, but we are just not used to it.

Myrl, We have had some terribly hot days. It must be awful for your American Eskimo to stay cool.

Bob and Carolin, He loves the water.

Monique, Bailey loves other dogs - he makes friends easily, but the first thing he wants to do is wrestle.

Rita, Thanks, he is a sweetheart.

Konnie, Bailey is so smart. You're right it's amazing to watch these guys.

Hi Mary, Nothing better than a dip in the sprinklers.

Ann, We'll have to come up and see you sometime soon.

John, Thanks, he is gorgeous.

Paul, Uh-oh, that's not a good thing that your dog is chewing the sprinkler heads.

Hi TOTO, Bailey is having the time of his life.

Hi Lou, So far we have been able to teach him everything else.  Feeding himself would be great.

Hi Pat, Thanks, I agree.

Silvia, It's hard to get him to walk past a house with sprinklers on.

Joseph, You have a dog Bailey too. What kind?  I bet they would be instant buddies.

Sandra, I know it's extra hot for our animals. They don't tolerate the heat very well.
