I take pictures as I enjoy sharing them with others. If you would like to use one of my photos, please ask, I am usually happy to oblige, however I would like to receive mention of having taken the picture.

that for you

Way to go for her. I think it's great that kids embrace fitness and power lifting. 200 pounds not easy people...
Sandy,
A big Congratulations to Sam! Way to go girl!!
Ann Hayden
I am so proud of that little gal. . .Sheeesh, I can't even lift 50 pounds anymore without crying:-) As an aside I have a 19 year old grandson, that is into bodybuilding. He came in 2nd place in the Mr. Reno contest.
Sandy, Every time I see power lifting now I think of your daughter and family!
What a great day to be alive!
Paul
Wow a world champion! That is just spectacular and so exciting! Congratulations Sam!!!
You go girl! With all the distractions today I commend young people that sacrifice and commit themselves to working hard to reach their goals. Congratulations Sam!
Hi Sandy
Tell Sam congratulation and to the proud Mom as well.
Good luck and success.
Lou Ludwig
Sandy, that is incredible! Congratulations to Sam and much more success to her!
Sandy, very cool! Tell Sam I said congratulations!! We are proud of her accomplishments!
Congratulations Sam! What a very cool record for her to be setting! Go Girl!
Debi
Sandy,
That is a fantastic accomplishment. Congratulations to both of you. :)
Steve
Another record! Congrats Sandy and congrats to Sam!
David, I think it's important to teach kids about physical fitness at a young age. Hopefully it stays with them for a lifetime.
Thanks Ann, She a toughie and just keeps on lifting more weight. But, my only concern is blowing out her knees. They tend to bother her sometimes, but I think her cheerleading have something to do with that.
Wow Myrl, Your grandson came in 2nd place in the Mr. Reno contest. That's incredible! I'm impressed. I was trying to help clean up the gym, after this meet, and I tried to lift just the bar that was holding the weights. and it was too heavy for me.
Paul, Well, I thank you for that. Sam is an inspiration.
Miss Mary, Thanks. She's really excited as she will be competing in a huge event in January.
Lee and Carol, I agree...we must keep kids off the streets, and have them involved in something positive.
Thanks Lou, I will. We think she's awesome!
Caren, Thank you. I hope that she doesn't decide to take the lifting too far, as I'm afraid she might hurt herself.
Thanks TOTO, She spends alot of time trying to reach her goals. She's in a weight lifting class at school and she lifts more than most of the boys in her class.
Hi Debi, It is a pretty cool record that she has set. This one is in addition to her 17 other World Records she has set.
Steve, She a strong one. And it is a big accomplishment. She has definitely earned it with all of her hard work and dedication.
Debra, Yes, another one. She's a worker.
Sandy,
I would be concerned about that also. Your knees can get "old" very fast.
Ann
What Ann said except for all joints. I'm 17 and I already need knee braces just to keep my knees from "grinding" during lifts and an elbow brace for tendonitis after only lifting for 4 years (although i lift for several hours 5 days a week). The positive side though is that I hold the trap bar dead lift record at my school (625lbs as of now) and feel great at the moment, but i'm sure it'll catch up eventually.
Hi Matt, I am concerned about the lifting. Sam is going to compete in January at a RAW Unity meet, where she will be the youngest lifter ever to compete. I know it can't be good for her, long term. She already has broken 17 World's Records, and we are seriously making a decision as to what to do from there. It's not worth a lifetime of pain and agony. Take care of yourself and don't overdo it!
Congrats to her! I would do meets if I didn't feel like most of the people there were on creatine or other things (I personaly pride myself on being one of the very few lifters at my school that DON'T use supplements). I usually ice my knees and elbow after lifting (or as soon as possible) to keep the pain down and help with the tendonitis and I've heard glucosamine can do wonders for joints. Wish Sam the best of luck for me!
Sandy,
Be sure to tell Sam to take care of herself...
Ann Hayden in Wildwood, MO
Matt, Sam is in a meet today. I'm on my way there now. She will be doing bench, squats and deadlift. It's a small meet. I will let you know how she does. and I will take some pictures. I know it's so important to get ice on immediately after a meet. The federation she is in is RAW - no drugs, no steroids, just good clean lifting. I may have to get her some glucosamine -I've also heard that it does wonders. Talk to you soon! Give us your email address and you and Sam can compare notes.
UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!
SANDY - YOU ARE CANDY!
