We woke up to another beautiful day here in Florida. The weather has been in the 70's to low 80's during the day with very low humidity. We have been fortunate to be sleeping with the windows open as it has been so cool.
I like to drink my tea on the back porch in the mornings. I found this little snake swimming around in the pool. He must have lost his way and wound up slithering his way into the water. Now I'm not real fond of slimey, slithering creatures, because I'm not really sure which ones are venomous and which ones aren't. And, I really don't care to know. My husband and daughter carefully scooped it out of the pool and returned it to a spot on the side yard in the bushes.
It's not uncommon for us, here in Florida to find these snakes hanging around in the yard.

Sandy, when I say your title and then where you live I just had to open this post. Great and pretty much what I expected to see. Thanks
Sandy, not to worry, no venom there, but they still bite.
Hi Sandy ~ He looks enormous in the pool - not so scary in your daughter's hand. Just taking his morning dip I guess.
Liz
Sandy, One of my favorite things about NY is NOT finding these things in our pools!
Sandy, what a nice little surprise for you. My Dad finds snakes around his home in AZ.
Sandy,
I would not like to find one of these in the pool. I am not afraid of them but I do not like to be startled by them....

To harm no foul, Realtors know to do relocation.
Good luck and success.

Sandy-without knowing if it were poisonous or not I don't think I would pick it up in my hand...eeww! Nah either way I wouldn't want to touch it.
Sandy - I have a friend that lives in Sarasota. She also has a pool with a cage, but still has unusual things that manage to get into it. That snake looks different from any I've seen!
The few snakes we might have are all in hibernation right now =)
Gerry, We find these little guys all around the yard. Sometimes we find them much bigger. No thank, I'll keep my distance.
Kevin, Lots of nonvenomous snakes in our parts. This guy's a baby.
Elizabeth, I personally do not like slimey, slithery things.
Carole, I don't blame you for not wanting to see these guys hanging around. I don't like them in the pool either.
Hi TOTO, Oh, I bet he finds snakes in AZ all over the place. Yuck!
Ann, I don't like it when one of them slithers across my foot. As long as I don't have to touch it and it doesn't touch me.
Lou, This snake was relocated to a nice, warm, moist shady spot, away from people.
Debra, My daughter isn't bothered by them. I don't care for them.
Myrl, It's amazing some of the things that get into the screened porch. Once we had a racoon get stuck in our pool area at 3:00 in the morning. He was going crazy trying to get out. Now that was a fiasco!
Paul, Oh, yes, I bet they would be...staying out of the cold.
Sandy,
I have never caught one... I leave this job up to others.

HI Ann, I'm with you- don't need to catch the slithery little things either, I call in the husband and the daughter. If they're full grown, we all leave them alone and just nudge them along to a safer spot.
Sandy,
I would have to call someone else....
