The Art of Sand is a month long event held in Cape Canaveral FL. There will be sand sculptors from across the globe. They will build monumental creations out of only sand and water. If you have never experienced an event like this, it is truly a sight to see.
The artists come from Canada, Russia, Italy, Japan the Netherlands and the US. They are given 80 tons of sand to build 15 to 30 foot monuments. The sand creations are on display from April 2 through May 1.
The event will be held at the Radisson at the Port, 8701 Astronaut Blvd., Cape Canaveral. The sand creations can be found at A1A and the Beachline.

Sandy,
Sounds like an amazing event. Would love to see some pictures of it. It is wonderful how communities come up with unique events that evolve into global media stories.
So cool, will have to drive over and see it in person. Thanks for letting all of us know.
Sandy isn't amazing what they can do with simple sand?
Sandy, thanks for sharing these pictures. I've heard of this festival before and am planning on a trip this month to see some sand, surf, and sand sculptures!
Sandy
It sounds like a fun event, enjoy.
Good luck and success.

Sandy, those are some really cool sand art sculptures! They are really talented artists, wish I could see them in person!!
I love these sculptures Sandy. I've seen these in California and they are really magnificent. I'll have to see if I can get some time to go take a look.
Hi Sandy, It's amazing how they do this. I wish I were closer so I could come and see the sculptures in person.
Hello Sandy - Those are incredible artists. I wish I could check it out. I live just a little too far away!

Sandy ~ I hope you go and see this, if you have not it is worth it. We were on vacation one year in Virgina Beach and happened to be that weekend. We got to watch the whole event and it was amazing. I took a ton of photos.
Hi Sandy, can you send the link. It just won't open like it should. Thanks!
Sandy...what a great event! You'll have to post more on it!

Sandy - Come to think of it, I have never been to a sand sculpting or sand castle building event! I'm missing out! From your pictures, I am astounded at the quality of creativity some folks have while working with such a medium. It's almost hard to imagine!
Ron and Alexandra, I haven't seen these sculptors yet, but I am heading up there this weekend. I know people that have gone and they say you have to see these up close.
Dick and Dixie, Glad to hear that you're close enough that you can make a trip over. Last year, I think that we were over in your area at least 8 times to visit Busch Gardens and for powerlifting competitions.
Jody, I can't wait to see these.
Gary, They say that it brings a big crowd. I'm looking forward to going.
John, It's amazing what they can do with sand and water.
Silvia, Well I hope that I run into you over at the festival. I've heard that it's alot of fun.
Lou, Are we going to see you up around this way to visit?
Caren, I read that the sculptors are from all over the world. I wonder where they practice.
Gabe, Would love to see you up here in Brevard. Maybe we can have a get together of all of us from around Florida. That would be great!
Mary, I wish you were closer too. I'll take some pictures and post them, so you and Caren can get a closer look.
Andy, I told Mary and Caren that I would get some close shots and post them for all of you.
Jeremy, Have you seen them before? I am really looking forward to going.
June, Oh boy, so you have already seen this in Virginia? How lucky for you they were having the festival the weekend you were there.
Kevin, I've sent the link to you, so you can check it out.
Michael and Cheron, I'll get some pictures up once I get up there to see these.
Myrl, It does seem hard to imagine being able to make these out sand.
Those sand sculptures are just amazing. How talented these people are!
