Oh, I wish I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener,
Oh, that is what I'd truly love to be...
Cause if I were an Oscar Mayer Wiener,
Then, everyone would be in love with me.'
Is that how it goes? I'm trying to remember the song. We used to sing it when we were kids. Did I get it right?
Well, the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is coming to Brevard County. Today it will be coming to Melbourne Florida. It will be at the Wickham Road Wal Mart at 8500 N Wickham Road from 1:00 to 6:00 today.
On Friday it will be in Merritt Island Florida at Wal Mart at 1500 E Merritt Island Causeway in Merritt Island from 1:00 to 6:00.
On Saturday, July 26 it will be at Patrick Air Force Base from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The 2 drivers of the Wienermobile are on the road for a year. Both drivers graduated from Hot Dog High in Madison Wisconsin, home of Oscar Mayer Headquarters. The drivers get 2 days off each week. They travel cross country, stopping to allow bystanders to take pictures of the World Famous Wienermobile.

that for you

My hot dog has a first name. It's O-S-C-A-R. My hot dog has a last name. It's M-A-Y-E-R.
...and yes, you have the lyrics right. Are they giving away free weiners?
My bologna starts out the same way too. ...and Oscar Mayer has a way with b-o-l-o-g-n-a
Hi Ken...Wait a minute...you're cracking me up now...isn't it also... my bologna has a first name, it's O-S-C-A-R, my bologna has a second name, it's M-A-Y-E-R?... Now, you've got me wondering. I didn't read anywhere that they are giving away free wieners. But, if I find out they are...I'll let you know. Have a great day!
There was a second verse that I remember:
Oh I'm glad I'm not an Oscar Mayer wiener
that is what I'd truly hate to be
cuz if i were an Oscar Mayer wiener
soon there would be nothing left of me
Miriam, Okay...I got'cha. I may have to run up to the Wal Mart today to snap a picture with the Wienermobile. Have a good day!
I sing it all the time because my dog's name is Oscar. He likes to hear his name in songs, so I also change the farmer & the dog song from Bingo to Oscar. I also say Bologna like it's spelled, not like it's actually pronounced because it's something I've done since I was a kid and still do.
Hi Amanda, Wow, you're good! I forgot all about that verse! You're right! Oh boy, how time flies, doesn't it? Thanks for the rest of the song and have a super day!
Hey Donna, That is sooo funny! I sing to my dog, Bailey, all the time too! Did you name him Oscar after the hot dog? Does he eat hot dogs? So the other song you sing is, There was a farmer had a dog and Oscar was his name-o, O-S-C-A-R, O-S-C-A-R, O-S-C-A-R and Oscar was he name-O. Is that how it goes? Now you are cracking me up! I have to tell my daughters about that - they'll love it! Boy, our dogs have us wrapped around their fingers paws, don't they? And your pronounciation of bologna...I love the things that keep our childhood close in our hearts, don't you? Say hi to Oscar for me!
Sandy, Yes, that's how the song goes. He wags his tail whenever I sing it, and I couldn't carry a note in my pocket! No, I didn't name him as I married into him. I've asked my husband several times how he came up with such a name, and he says he changed his name every day for a couple of weeks until he found one that fit, and Oscar was his name-o!
Hey Donna, That's too funny! Isn't it great how our dogs love us no matter what! They don't care if we can sing or not...they just love to know that we're paying attention to them. I love my boxer, Bailey. It's funny that you say that you married into him, I always say that when people ask me how I got my name...Sandy Shores...I married into it. I can't believe your husband changed Oscar's name every day for a couple of weeks till he found the right name. I saw my dog as a puppy, and knew the minute I first saw him that his name would be Bailey! He looked like a Bailey! Thanks for sharing your dog stories-people that are dog lovers are GREAT! Have a wonderful weekend, I'll talk to you soon!
What a way to make a buck. Do they serve along the way? I like mine with shredded cheese and mayo.
Hey Robert, I don't think that they serve along the way. Ken Montville asked the same question. I don't think they have the capability of doing that in their wienermobile. From what I read, the drivers eat in restaurants and stay in hotels. Hmmmm, mayo on a hot dog? Never thought about that before. I'll have to give it a try someday. It I eat a hot dog on a bun it has to have ketchup and relish. But, if I eat it without a bun, I only like mustard on it.
