School Starts On Monday here in Melbourne Florida

School starts in Brevard County FloridaWell, here we are...school starts on Monday August 18, 2008 here in Melbourne Florida.  We get so many questions from buyers and owners about the local school systems here in Melbourne Florida.

Did you know that you can visit the Brevard County Schools website for the most comprehensive school information available? Did you know that you can view each individual school's scorecard to see how well that school has performed over the last several years? The county website is full of good information for parents and students.

I know as a parent, every year I look for the Melbourne Florida 2008-2009 School Calendar  for Brevard County Schools to help plan the school year

In addition, you can find school information across the nation.  You can find school rankings. You can type in a a home address and the search will indicate what school your student should be attending.  Or you can see what area is close to a specific district.

So, have a great year and see you at school on Monday!

I have to wake up at 5:30 to drive my boy to school Monday.  Thanks for reminding me.  LOL

Hi Randall, I feel for you!  I am not a morning person either!  My youngest daughter is on the school Powerlifting Team.  She and my husband are up at 5:00 AM 3 to 4 mornings a week, out the door at 5:20 and both of them are lifting weights at 5:45AM.  I truly don't know how they do it!  I get up at 6:00 AM.  Her coach is at the gym every morning at 3:30-4:00 doing his hour long workout before he even sees the kids for weightlifting!  I think very early mornings should be illegal!  Best wishes to you!

I am soooo looking forward to school starting again.  We (my kids) start on the 25th here and I might not go to sleep that night from sheer excitement.  Wow!!

Latonia, Well GREAT!  I know my girls are ready to go back.  Summer is fun, but then they start running out of things to do!  School gives them a routine and some structure, in addition to all of the after school activities...we wake up on Monday morning and I feel like when I go to sleep at night, it's Friday night.  For us...the weeks go by THAT fast!   HAVE FUN!

I am so looking forward to dropping my kids off at the bus stop at 6:38 and 6:48.  Then I go home, have some coffee, get online and my friend comes over to walk at 7:30.

It has been a relaxing summer but the kids need some activity.

Hi Edie, You know, every one of my friends that I have talked to are so excited about school starting.  It will be so nice for the kids to go back.  My girls are even looking back to going.  I agree with you, it will put a bit of structure back into our lives.  I will be thinking of you exercising at 7:30 Monday, because that's about the time I jump on my treadmill for my 30 minutes a day of "my time". Doesn't the daily exercise make all the difference?  I am so much fresher and more focused everyday when I workout.  If I miss a day, boy do I feel it - don't you?

They are so bored during the summer if they have nothing to do. They need to be back to get those greative juices flowing.

Hi Robert, I know...summer can be a boring time if they don't have activities.  I agree...they need to get their creative juices flowing.  After their first week they'll be back in the swing of things. Have a great week!
