Homemade Chicken Soup - Yum, Yum!

I love the crisp clean feel of Fall in the air.

The sky is so clear and there is no humidity.

The weather has been perfect for the last 2 weeks.

Here in the last couple of days in Melbourne Florida we have had quite a cold snap

The past 3 mornings we have woken up to 40 to 45 degree temperatures.  It's cold!  I know I must sound like a wimp to you Northerners.  But, that's cold for down here at this time of year!

The days warm up to somewhere in the 70's.  I love being outside during the day.

Tonight, I think I will make my favorite meal in this cool weather - homemade chicken soup, yum, yum!  I love it.

Well, I've got to run. I want to get outside before it gets too cold and I've got to get my soup started!

Homemade Chicken Soup Yum Yum

It looks to me like Bailey the Boxer has visions of my soup, too!

Or, maybe he's thinking about duck soup...

You just knew a northerner was going to comment didn't you????

Check out my recipe for chicken soup.  BTW, 45 degrees is good here in NYC.

Hi Lewis,  A foot or two of snow - I've heard that it's really cold in many parts of the country!  I haven't seen snow in 30 years - I miss it, but I would freeze!  You're in shorts and a T shirt - not me.  Take care and I'll send you some soup!  I'll try to get tougher (LOL)

I love the cold weather out here in CA, which means anything below 70 degrees. I always "kick" up my chicken soup with a little dry sherry reduction and a pinch of cayenne, but there must be a million ways to cook it.

Hi Richard, It does feel nice and brisk first thing in the mornings.  But at about 2 AM it's a bit nippy for me!  Glad you're enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having!

Hi Thomas, I just came in from a 45 minute walk - it was gorgeous outside!  Now I'm going to work on my soup and I think I will throw a couple of jalapenos in it to spice it up - thanks for the great idea with the cayenne.  Take care!

If you like beef stew, check out my recipe for gourmet beef burgundy stew, posted today in off-topic for real estate professionals. As a full time property manager and part-time chef, I look for recipes that taste impressive and feature abbreviated cooking times.

Hi Thomas, Wow a Realtor and a part time chef - best of both worlds for you!  I will definitely check it out.  I am eating my chicken noodle soup right now and it is delicious!  Want some?

Hi Sandy ... Oh! Look at the slobber pup!  One of the names I had for my dog ...

That is cold for Florida.  It was 40 here and I was freezing ... haven't built up my winter tolerance yet.  Definite chicken soup weather.  Happy Halloween!

Hi Sherry, 80 degrees - that's summer! Enjoy and take care!

Hi Ann,  Bailey is a sweetheart and he loves attention!  The soup was excellentQ  Thanks and I hope you are well.

Hey Marie, Bailey is definitely a slobber pup - his name suits him perfectly -funny you had a dog named Bailey.  It seems to be warming up here.  I think it does take awhile to build up your winter tolerance, I agee. I bet it gets really cold where you are.  Stay warm!

Thanks for the chuckle about the weather.  28 degrees this morning in CT and it's still officially fall.  I love the pictures on your page, did you take them yourself?  Beautiful.  I may have to head to Florida this winter.  :)

Sandy ~ I don't think you are going to find too much sympathy for 45 degree mornings. I think that most people could only hope the mornings would be that warm. Oh to live in Florida. At least you have your homemade chicken soup to keep you warm.

Posted by Ryan Martin - Bellingham Commercial RE Broker (Windermere Real Estate / Whatcom Inc.) over 3 years ago

Hi Krystal, Okay, I'll admit it - I'm officiallly a wimp, aren't I?  I know it's not really cold here compared to so many other parts of the country  Yes, I did take the pictures myself here in Melbourne Beach.  I actually took them only about 2 weeks ago, while out with out of town buyers - they absolutely love the area (who wouldn't?). Thanks for the great compliment and you stay warm!

Hi Ryan, Well apparently I am hearing that is the general consensus - it's still warm here in Florida.  I suppose I'm gonna have to toughen up and get used to it.  Take care.  And by the way, the chicken soup was delicious!

Sandy, I hope all is well with you. You have to love soup weather, it doesn't taste right in the summer...

Hi Paul, You are 100% correct!  Soup only tastes good in the cold winter months.  I couldn't agree more!  Take care and have a wonderful weekend!

Sandy,

The weather is warm here today...must be close to 80.  For Halloween this is kind of strange.  One year we had snow and it was way too cold!!

Hi Ann, Yesterday warmed up alot. Last night for Halloween most just had short sleeve shirts on and jeans (those not dressed up).  It was beautiful.  I hope you had fun.

Sandy,

This weekend was gorgeous....  But the bugs are everywhere.  I dislike bugs.

Hi Ann, We had a rainy, dreay, chilly overcast weekend. So we watched old movies and got caught up on our chores and closet cleaning.  I suppose these kinds of weekends allow us to appreciate the really beautiful ones!

Sandy,

Yes, you are correct.  But everyone needs rain...

Hi Ann, All of the rain we have gotten over the past couple of months has given us green grass that's gorgeous.  Everything looks fresh and new.  So it's been a good thing!

Sandy,

Green can be a great color.  And looking at the positives of the rain is a good idea. ;-)
