Thanks Active Rain for Growing our Businesses...

I am sensing a strange hush here on Active Rain.  It's a good hush. Lately, things seem a bit different than normal. Some agents and lenders are blogging on different schedules then they previously were.  I know I haven't been at my keyboard on the same schedule I used to be. But, rather at varied times throughout my busy day (or night).

Could it be that Realtors are outside of the office on listing appointments?

They are out working with buyers, showing houses?

I know that seems to be the case in our area of Brevard County Florida.

The phones are ringing more.

We are getting more calls for showings on our listings.

Has business picked up recently in your area?

Are you seeing buyers or sellers?

I hope that business has picked up across the country for all Realtors, Lenders and Active Rainers.

Thanks Active Rain for helping us to Grow Our Businesses!

Hi Gary, I hope that it's because of what we are seeing around here in Brevard County - the phones ringing more than before. I guess time will tell!

There is definitely a change in the activity level here in WI. Not enough that sellers can get more for their homes, but definitely enough that we feel we may have seen the bottom.  Several of my agents have told me that they are interested in AR but just haven't made the time to get on because they have been busy.   We have seen a fair number of new listings but I also know that agents are turning down more listings than ever before b/c sellers aren't realistic on price.

I thought I might have today off to spend a little R&R time but I'm working on one offer and need to get a second one prepared for tomorrow.  Ratified one contract on Sunday so I think the buyers are definitely out!

Biz is great. I have contracted 1.2 MM so far this year and listed another 400K. Yes my phones are ringing. Obamas doing it already!

2 listings and 2 offers submitted this week.  Stopped by to see my preffered lender this morning and they are swamped with new loan applications.  My new year's resolution was to stop watching the network news.....so far something is in the air!

Thanks for the post

Sandy, I am sure we are busier than average, but it could be the rank and file agents have less competition. I estimate our MLS membership is down 30% from 2 years ago...

I think my listings are getting more showings than Januaries of past. There are a lot of people looking and I had a very good fourth quarter. Time will tell - I hope it keeps going.

Sandy, I have had 4 showings this past week on one of my Pennsylvania listings.

Hi Paul, Love to hear that things are busier than normal! Sounds great!

Linda, It seems like showings have picked up here also.  Good news for all of us!

Hi Rich, 4 showings in the last week -that's incredible!  We're not that busy yet!

Hi Justin, Showings eventually lead to offers. Hang in there, they're coming!

Hey Miss Mary, I think people are ready for a new start!

Gary, I couldn't agree with you more!  It's great!

Sandy,

Yes, I think business is picking up.  I have been working with buyers for the last 7 days...  All three are new to the market and looking for a good deal.

2009 is going to be FINE!

Things are picking up here too. Got a contract on one and looking at some price reductions on listings. Buyers are picking up activity.
