In Buying a House, Education is Key

Yesterday, I went out to meet with new clients that were recently referred to me. They were an absolutely wonderful Buying a housecouple and we hit it off beautifully. They will be a delight to work with. I will be representing them as a buyer's agent in the purchase of their home.

I have been in touch with them and sent them lists of homes for sale. They narrowed it down to 3 that they wanted to look at.  We decided to pop in to see a couple more that were on our route.

As buyers look at properties, there is a constant tweaking and re tweaking as they see what the current market has to offer.

Education is key in the purchase of a home.

Thorough knowledge of the area is essential.

The more educated a buyer becomes to an area, the real estate market, and what homes are available in their price range, the more easily it is to spot the home that suits their wants, as well as their needs.

And, the more chance they will be happy with their choice after they have settled in.

They'll know it's the right house when they see it.

Sandy,

The perfect match;

  1. Education is key in the purchase of a home.
  2. Thorough knowledge of the area is essential.

If you know these to points and covey them freely, you're a winner! Good Post!

Yes, they do know the right house when they see it and I love it when the buyer's visit a few and they begin to get a real feel for pricing. You know when this happens because they will start saying, "this one is a great price or Is this house overpriced?"

Hi Mary, I agree completely -it is up to us to educate our buyers and sellers.  That's why they hire a professional!

Tony, I agree that education is the key!

Paul, I think those 2 are a perfect blend in purchasing a home!

Linda, I love seeing the transistion that comes over time with the buyers.  You're right!

Hi Sandy - They will know the house because you spent the time to help them understand the market and the things that influence their home buying decision. Keep up the great work.

Sandy - You are absolutely right.  Education is key for buyers, especially in this market when many of the properties are being sold "as is" and without any disclosures.  Inspections are also very critical.

Hi Fred, We hope that we do the best job possible to educate our buyers so they do "know it when they see it".

Hi Myrl.  Education is key.  You are correct we have so many as is contracts today, with no disclosures.  Inspections are crucial - great point!
