When I was a 13 year old girl, I remember having the dream of being "in" the real estate business. I wanted to help buyers and sellers with their real estate transactions. I always thought what an easy and fun job! Wow!
I had a great uncle that began buying and selling vacant land in the 1960's in Melbourne Beach Florida. He also had his real estate license. It seemed that everything he touched turned to gold. He had a knack for the business. As I watched him, I remember thinking that when I grow up, I was going to do just what he did...buy and sell real estate, also.
He made it all look so easy, and then I got into the business 13 years ago, and found out that it was NOT easy at all!
It was a lot of hard work and constant dedication!

that for you

I wear a number of hats and they all seem to intertwine with Real Estate so this is good.
The list can really go on forever!
Happy Friday Sandy!! Now that you put it that way, I need an entire room for all those hats!! That's quite a list! I never really thought about it....Now where in the heck can I put all of those hats !!! LOL Great post!! Thanks, Sandy!!
It seems that a have an entire closet full. It is part of the business I like! Thanks for sharing
Hi Sandy,
You are right on! One more hat in today's market is, "House Sitter" Not that we like it, but when one of our listings is a vacant home our responsibility includes making sure it is up to par for showing at all times. We make our rounds at least once a week so the property never looks abandon or neglected.
Now, those are a lot of hats Sandy. Some of them are even bigger than the one Aretha wore at the inauguration.
Sandy,
So many hats...so little time!
Our list grows and grows as the industry changes.
Thanks for posting,
Ann
PS Did you miss me? I was without internet while I was at the state meetings.
Hi Sandy
Success real estate real estate professionals are excellent multi tasking and wear many hats.
Good luck and success

I'm always surprised by some of the off the wall questions clients sometime ask me. Like what is the student to teacher ratio in this school district. The process of learning is really never ending in real estate. You never know what your clients will ask you next.
I'm exausted just reading the list. Don't forget Psychologist and Marraige counselor.
Hi Steven, We wear so many hats, often times we forget just how many there are!
Hi Mott, Great addition to the list!
Hi Miss Mary, I think you're right, we would need a whole room for all the hats we wear!
Hi Allen, I agree, it's the part of the business that I like too!
Hi Hal, So true, another great addition to the list!
Hi Fred, Great point, some of the hats we wear are bigger than others!
Hi Ann, Love the point - our list of hats does grow as the industry changes!
Hi Lou, Multi tasking is key in real estate - isn't it?
Hi Justin, We do get asked lots and lots of questions, that sometimes we don't always know the answers. But we must know where to find them!
Hi Chris and Karen, More great additions to this endless list!
Sandy,
I have my snow hat on today....BRRRR!

Great post Sandy. I have something similar on my web page about all the things Realtors have to do, and all the things Home Stagers have to do. I may have to add some of your items to both my lists..."know when to say no"...is a great one!
Hi Ann, Well I hope that you stay warm. We had a little cold snap here, but I'd have to say that it has still been getting up in the 70's during the day!
Hi Nora, I hope that you are doing well and I hope that business has picked up for you as it has for many others of us here in Melbourne. I think this list could go on and on, don't you?
There are times when I wonder when real estate became a computer job... this is probably one of the bigger challenges that the modern agent faces- the technology aspect.
Hi Chuck, Another great addition to the list - a technology expert . I agree, often times the computer aspect of the job is one of the most difficult.
WOW. I guess I never realized all the things I do and need to know as a REALTOR until I see it in a list.
Hi Scott, It's amazing isn't is? And I know that I missed some things that should have been on that list.
