I just finished reading Ann Haydens Blog today about 10 Safer Driving Tips on how to drive cautiously while there is snow and ice on the ground.
# 2 on Ann's list was to Pack emergency supplies in your vehicle: food, water, blanket, shovel, sand, ice melt. and #3 was Keep your gas tank at least half full because you never know when you are going to get into a jam.
Ann always let's us know how the weather is in her neck of the woods of Missouri. Earlier this week she posted a picture of an ice covered cliff - it made me shiver just to look at it.
We are hearing from our friends across the country about how cold it is where they are. And, I couldn't help but think how truly fortunate those of us that live here in Florida are.
Last week I was at the beach, across the street from a home that I was listing for sale. The weather was perfect.
These pictures were taken in Satellite Beach Florida.
The temperature was about 75 degrees.
We did have a cold snap last week, where it got down in the 30's for two nights, but that's the coldest weather we have had this winter.
My heart goes out to all of you in cold country.
When you get sick and tired of the cold, come on down and see us here in Florida!

I'm just up in Atlanta, but I need to get down to the beach soon!
We moved further south to leave the cold and ice storms behind also,
Thanks for your thoughts and the pictures too.
I'm sitting at Panera's, drinking free coffee, watching the snow like in a snowdome and working online. You know what happens when a hurricane, tornado or earthquake is due? Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate!!!! Do you know what happens when snow falls? Stay home....and the snow MELTS.
I'll take snow any day over a hurricane or Tornado. It melts.

Sandy,
Tom is at Paneras enjoying some free coffee today! I posted that one on Tuesday...
Thank you for thinking of all of us in the cold north. The snow is beautiful but really deep.
How cool of you to mention my name in your post.
You are awesome!
Ann Hayden enjoying the 7 inches of snow in Wildwood, Missouri
I'm sitting in the office, on phone duty, watching the guy we hire plow the lot today...It's about 4-5 inches of a combination of snow, sleet and now rain on top of it...Real HEAVY stuff and it's just a mess...I'm jealous...BUT heading south to play golf next month....WHOOPEE!!!
Sandy - great photos. Isn't it amazing to live along the coast - we have such temperate weather. Although this morning it was in the high 40's, it will warm up today. Some weekends it is like summer for sure. Love to hear more about that house you listed.
Sandy, you are just driving the northerners crazy with this you know.
My Dear Sandy Shores, This post just really ticks me off !! :-) You know I'm freezing my toosties off today, girl.... HOWEVER, I seem to remember burning those same little tootsies in the sand at Coco Beach, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
and being unbelieveably Hot,
and the humidity OMG... and cockroaches?
Thank you for your kind offer to come to Florida, I'll be right there :-)
Hi Sandy ~ Those pictures are awesome! Rubbing it in a bit, huh?! Seriously though, as I contemplate shoveling the driveway yet one more time, it's nice to think it's warm and sunny *somewhere* and will be here again too.
Liz
PS - I will send some cool breezes your way in the summer's heat!
Sandy, we moved to Maryland from Chicago 6 years ago, so the winters here are not as bad. Send some of that warm weather up this way, will ya?
I saw this and just had to smile. My part of Missouri didn't get as much snow as Ann Hayden's so I'm thankful for that at least. Granted it's still very cold. If were lucky it might get into the 40's tommorow. I'm going to have this post in mind while I'm scrapping the ice off of my car tomorrow morning.
Hi Sandy
Today was a great day to be in Florida 80° and sunny. What a beach day.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
OK Sandy, Now that's hitting just a little south of the belt. We had some 75 degree weather just the other day on September 14th I believe :)
Hi Darrell, My brother in law is also in the Atlanta area. Only about 8 hours from here. Take care of that beautiful new baby of yours.
Crystal, I know many people that moved south to get away from the cold.
Tom, Good point...hurricanes and tropical storms here do make us evacuate! I hope you enjoyed the coffee and try and stay warm!
Hi Ann, I always hear of how cold it is there, and think we are so lucky here!
Hi Ernie, Sounds icky up there right now. Have fun golfing when you head our way!
Sharon, We are truly blessed to live along the coast.
Gary, We are so lucky to have such warm weather here. I have to admit though, I would love to see snow again. It's been years.
Hi Mary, Yes, it does get hot and humid here in the summertime. And we definitely do have coakroaches and chamelons running all over the place to. Give me a call the next time you come to Cocoa Beach.
Hi Elizabeth, Yes in the summer, we will appreciate getting some cool breezes down here. It does get very hot and sticky!
Hey Rich, I'll send you some of this weather, if you send me a snowball! - LOL
Hi Justin, Well it doesn't sound too terrible up there, being in the 40's. Stay warm while you're scraping the ice.
Lou, We are blessed to be here in the summer
Hi Paul, Just having fun. We'll be sweating bullets, with our cockroaches in the summertime and will be wishing for some cool weather.
Hey, hey, hey now. That's not fair. Hee Hee. It is a balmy 8 degrees with wind chills below zero in Chicago. You are invited to do the polar bear swim in Lake Michigan.
Hi Tony, Oh boy, too cold for me. No thank you. I'll watch you!
