Nearly everyday I make it a point to get outside and take a walk with my dog, Bailey the Boxer. He loves it. It keeps him fit and trim and it gives me a chance for some "me" time. I get to breathe the fresh air and I get the opportunity to clear my head and step away from everything for 45-50 minutes each day. I love the feeling I have after coming back in from a brisk walk.
The weather here has been absolutely beautiful. It's been in the 70's during the day, with no humidity. Sometimes I have to throw on a light sweater and some jeans.
There are so many routes we can take on our walk, and we take a different one depending on where we feel like going that day. My schedule often varies, but Bailey's doesn't. He knows exactly what time he likes going out each evening, and if I'm not ready, he reminds me that I need to be ready. The nights that I have evening appointments he reminds me the minute I get in that it's time to walk.
On our walks lately we have noticed that the people and pets we used to see out all the time are not around much anymore. Often times Bailey stops in front of homes where he knows his 'pet' friends live and he wants to wait, hoping they will come out. He is very social and loves meeting people and playing with other dogs.
Bailey and I have been wondering lately...where are all the dogs?
I suppose that our schedules all change and our lives keep us so busy, we don't always get to do all the things we used to do before.

that for you

Hi Sandy! I love your pictures of Bailey, he always makes me smile :-) Maybe the other dogs are wating for their 8 to 5 owners to come home...maybe they walk really early or really late?? Whatever they do, I'm glad you and Bailey get to go out- that's terrific!
It is cold in the Charlotte/Lake Norman area right now. I would definitely get out less if it weren't for the dogs. I see my neighbors walking there dogs alot.
PS CUTE DOG!
Bailey is adorable! I'm ready to start taking my dog for a walk, but it's too darn cold up here, 70 degrees sounds nice.
Hi Mary, I have to really work to make sure that I can fit my walk into my day somewhere. It keeps me sane. I think that people's schedules change and it's hard to fit in everything that we want and like to do.
Hi Wendy, I would definitely be inside if I didn't have a dog. I would walk on my treadmill instead.
Great Picture of Bailey. I recently lost my dog of 14 years and I don't take walks like I use to anymore, Enjoy your time with your dog and the 70 degree February weather.
Sandy, This is such a great picture of Bailey! You are having nice weather. I love walking outside in the fresh air too. In the winter I need to put layers upon layers on. I warm up so it is not so bad.
HI K.T. I hate to hear that you lost your pet of 14 years. I know that it really breaks your heart. Take care of yourself. Our pets are our family!
Hi Tony, Bailey is such a camera ham! I love getting outside as much as possible, especially since the weather has been perfect!
Sandy, I need to get a new dog just to do what you say. Everyone should get out with them and take life at a slower pace.
Hi Sandy just stopping in to say hello - I'm jealous of your weather! We're getting some rain in Seattle today SURPRISE! really there have been some beautiful "blue sky" days lately (but not so warm) Love the photo - He's a lucky Dog! :) You have a great week and take in that Florida Sunshine!
Sandy,
Bailey and I share a common feeling...man am I tired! I see lots of dogs on my walk usually.

Hi Sandy
I'm not sure were the dog's are, but it appears the you took Bailey for a long walk.
Good luck and success
Lou Ludwig
Sandy one would think with no one working we would have plenty of time to walk the dogs. Mine get at least two short walks a day.
Sandy, I can see your dog is not a big fan out of the camera flash...
Gary, My dog is my coach. He makes me go outside even on the days that I really don't feel like it.
Hi Teresa, So glad to hear from you and glad to hear that all is going well there. Take care and hope that business if booming for you.
Hi Ann, We used to see lots of dogs on our walks, but no so anymore.
Hi Lou, Yes, Bailey just came back from a long walk in this picture. He's bushed.
Hi John, I love getting out with the dog everyday! Great to hear you're getting a breath of fresh air too.
Paul, You know, it's funny, each time I go to take a picture of him, he usually tries to get up and walk away, probably because I am always trying to get a picture of him.
Hi Sandy ~ This reminds me of years ago when I noticed on a walk with a friend that all the kids were gone. It must have been the end of the era when kids used to play outside, unaccompanied. But now the dogs are gone too?!! The Twilight Zone music is playing in my head.
Liz
Uh oh, no Twilight Music -that really makes it freaky. You're right - It does seem like there are no kids outside playing anymore. What happened to those days? Times have really changed!
Sandy, that is an adorable picture of Bailey! He is lucky that you make the time to walk him so often.
Thanks Lara, He thinks he's adorable too - LOL! It therapeutic for both of us!
Sandy, Baily is adorable. He sleeps good after those long walks!
Ginger & Roger, Bailey does sleep good after those long walks. He loves his walks.
